1. The Service

NarrowIt is a college decision-making tool that helps admitted students compare schools using a weighted decision matrix. The Service provides data-driven comparisons, social polling features, and organizational tools to support your college choice.

NarrowIt is not a college counselor, financial advisor, or admissions service. The scores, rankings, and comparisons provided by the Service are generated from publicly available data (primarily the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard) combined with your personal preferences. They are meant to inform your decision, not make it for you.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use NarrowIt. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Accounts

You may use core features of NarrowIt without creating an account. Some features, such as social polls and predictions, require authentication via Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple.

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. You agree not to share your account with others or allow unauthorized access.

We may create an anonymous account on your behalf to enable certain features. This anonymous account is linked to your device and does not require personal information.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use NarrowIt only for its intended purpose. You may not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Create polls or content that is abusive, harassing, obscene, or discriminatory
• Attempt to manipulate poll results through automated means or fake accounts
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. User Content

"User Content" includes poll questions, journal entries, notes, and any other text or data you input into NarrowIt.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By creating polls or participating in social features, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to display that content to other users as part of the Service (e.g., showing your poll to voters).

Journal entries, campus visit notes, financial data, and other private content stored locally on your device are not accessed, read, or transmitted by us.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

NarrowIt may offer premium features through in-app subscriptions. Subscriptions are processed and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not directly by us.

• Billing: Subscription fees are charged to your Apple ID or Google account at the time of purchase and at each renewal period.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Google Play settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google, as they process all payments. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly.

7. Data and Accuracy

NarrowIt uses data from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard and other publicly available sources. While we strive to present accurate and current information:

• College data may be delayed by one or more academic years from the source
• Net price estimates are averages and may not reflect your specific financial aid package
• Earnings data represents median outcomes and does not guarantee individual results
• Match scores are based on your stated preferences and available data — they are a tool, not a verdict

Always verify financial aid offers, costs, and other important details directly with each college.

8. Loan Information Disclaimer

NarrowIt may display student loan information, repayment estimates, and links to third-party lenders for informational purposes only.

• We are not a lender, broker, or financial advisor
• Loan estimates shown in the app are illustrative and do not constitute loan offers
• Interest rates, terms, and eligibility shown are approximate and subject to change
• If you click through to a lender's website, any application or transaction is between you and that lender
• We encourage you to exhaust federal student aid options before considering private loans

9. Intellectual Property

The NarrowIt name, logo, design, and all associated content and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.

College names, logos, and other institutional branding displayed in the app are the property of their respective institutions and are used for identification purposes only.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• The data, scores, or recommendations will be accurate or complete
• The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Decisions made based on information provided by NarrowIt
• Inaccurate data, scores, or financial estimates
• Loss of data stored locally on your device
• Unauthorized access to your account
• Service interruptions or downtime

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

13. Termination

You may stop using NarrowIt at any time. You may delete your account and all associated data through Settings > Delete Account in the app.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

14. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

15. Feedback

If you provide us with suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us an unrestricted, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose without obligation to you.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Effective Date" above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Texas.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
